Welcome to Dikduk. By using our service, you agree to these Terms of Service. Please read them carefully.
1. Service Description
Dikduk is a free educational application designed to help users learn Biblical Hebrew grammar. The service includes:
- Interactive lessons on Hebrew grammar
- Practice exercises with feedback
- Progress tracking (stored locally or synced with an optional account)
All educational content is provided free of charge. Account creation is optional and only required for syncing progress across devices.
2. Account Responsibilities
If you choose to create an account:
- You must provide accurate information
- You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account
- You must notify us immediately of any unauthorized access
- You may not share your account with others
3. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use the service for any unlawful purpose
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems
- Interfere with or disrupt the service
- Copy, modify, or distribute our content without permission
- Use automated systems to access the service excessively
- Impersonate others or provide false information
4. Intellectual Property
The content on Dikduk, including lessons, exercises, code, and design, is protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws.
You may:
- Use the service for personal, non-commercial learning
- Share links to Dikduk with others
You may not:
- Copy or redistribute our content
- Create derivative works based on our content
- Use our content for commercial purposes
Note: Our curriculum is based on principles from Weingreen's "A Practical Grammar for Classical Hebrew." We are not affiliated with or endorsed by the publisher of that work.
5. User Content
Dikduk currently does not allow users to submit content. If this changes in the future, these terms will be updated accordingly.
6. Service Availability
We strive to provide a reliable service, but we do not guarantee:
- Uninterrupted access to the service
- That the service will be error-free
- That any errors will be corrected
We may modify, suspend, or discontinue the service at any time without notice.
7. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law:
- Dikduk is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind
- We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages
- Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us (which is zero for our free service)
This does not affect your statutory rights as a consumer.
8. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Dikduk and its operators from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your violation of these terms or misuse of the service.
9. Termination
We may terminate or suspend your access to the service at any time, with or without cause, with or without notice. You may delete your account at any time through the Settings page.
Upon termination:
- Your right to access the service ends immediately
- We may delete your account and data
- Provisions that should survive termination will remain in effect
10. Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. We will notify users of significant changes by posting a notice on the website. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
11. Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales, except where you have mandatory consumer rights to bring proceedings in your country of residence.
12. Severability
If any provision of these terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in effect.
